Most of the counseling staff are graduate student therapists in their second year of study and training in the specialization of Marriage and Family Therapy (SMFT) in the School of Family, Consumer, and Nutrition Sciences.
The student therapists receive ongoing supervision from the clinical faculty in the SMFT program.
The three clinical faculty are all seasoned clinicians, and each faculty member is individually licensed as a Marriage and Family therapist in the state of Illinois, in addition to being an Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
The SMFT faculty also provide clinical services at the Family Center.
