Listservs
Listservs allow groups to disseminate information quickly to a wide audience. Participants, called subscribers, receive messages from the group through email. While a listserv can provide a useful forum for sharing about teaching, technology and a range of topics, it can also become problematic if subscribers abuse the list. Generally, forwarded messages, jokes, and items not relevant to the stated focus of the list should not be sent. Attachments should be sent only if they contribute to the purpose of the list.
