Overview

network

Collaborative learning is widely recognized as a powerful technique for teaching and having an impact on student development and success. There are, however, some barriers that can make collaborative learning projects challenging for students, such as finding time to meet and managing shared resources or files. Fortunately, new campus-wide technologies make virtual collaboration easier between students in the same class, in different classes, and around the world.

Beginning this summer, after NIU students are given full access to Microsoft Office 365, they will be able to easily share files, work collaboratively on a single document, share media-rich digital notes, and communicate with one another and their faculty. In this morning session of the institute, we will explore using a variety of Office 365 tools to share files, communicate, and collaboratively create brilliant works. While some of the tools will be familiar, you will use them in new and exciting ways. Plus, there will be a few innovative tools perfect for classroom use that you may not have seen before, such as OneNote, Skype for Business, PowerBI, and Sway.
