Registration Information

New students may apply on-line or by mail to become an NIU student. Undergraduate applications are available at www.admissions.niu.edu/admissions and graduate applications are at www.grad.niu.edu/apply/index.shtml. For information or to have an application form mailed: undergraduates, call (815) 753-0446; graduate students, call (815) 753-0395.

Registration information is available through MyNIU at www.niu.edu/myniu. To access MyNIU, first follow the link and log on. Once in MyNIU, click "Self-Service" then "Student Center" to view many useful links including a class browser and registration links.

NIU will no longer mail paper statements. Students will be notified by e-mail when account information is available to view via MyNIU. Payment is due 30 days later. NIU will send official communications through the student e-mail account.

Some courses fill to capacity well before the start of the class and others may be cancelled with insufficient enrollment, so it is best to register as soon as possible. You can access the NIU schedule of classes at www.reg.niu.edu/regrec/courses/findcourses.shtml.

If you have problems registering or have specific questions about registration, telephone the Office of Registration and Records at (815) 753-0681 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
