Evan KingEvan King, saxophone

Evan King (apprentice 3) finished his master’s degree at NIU in spring 2013 where he specialized in Jazz Performance and Pedagogy. While at NIU, he was co-director of the NIU University Jazz Band and was also the adjunct sax/jazz teacher at Beloit Memorial High School in Beloit, WI. He received his undergraduate degree in music from the University of Dayton in Ohio. While at NIU, he was a member of the Liberace Jazztet, NIU Jazz Ensemble, NIU Jazz Lab Band, and the NIU Latin Jazz Ensemble. At NIU he studied privately with NIU saxophone professors Steve Duke, Rich Moore, and Geof Bradfield. He has been teaching for three years and is the Jazz Director at Huntley Middle School (Dekalb, IL).
