Kara Eubanks (faculty) is an active and versatile violin performer and Suzuki teacher. She performs, teaches, arranges, and records in Chicago. Ms. Eubanks has performed solo and chamber music across the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Holland, and the Czech Republic. She has performed chamber music at New York’s Lincoln Center and in orchestral and mixed ensembles at Chicago’s Symphony Center. Ms. Eubanks is a regular performer in New York City’s Music in Midtown chamber music series and she has been a member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra, the Fontainebleau Chamber Orchestra in Paris, France, and the DiCapo Opera Orchestra of New York City. In 2014, Ms. Eubanks was inducted into the Sycamore Music Hall of Fame in her hometown of Sycamore, Illinois.
Prior to joining the the NIU Community School of the Arts, Ms. Eubanks has been on the violin faculty at Brooklyn College Conservatory in New York, the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, and the String Academy of Chicago.
As a studio musician and arranger for rock bands across the United States, Ms. Eubanks has been featured on mtv.com, National Public Radio, and daytrotter.com, and on record labels such as Eenie Meenie and Lookout! Records.
