Ting-Ya Chiu, cello
Ting-Ya Chiu (apprentice 2) is working on her master's degree in cello performance at NIU and studies cello with Cheng-Hou Lee of the Avalon Quartet. Her bachelor's degree in music is from Soochow University in Taiwan. She has performed in France and Japan, as well as Taiwan and the U.S., and has played chamber music and in orchestras. While at NIU, she has performed with the Middle Eastern Ensemble. She played first chair for the NIU Philharmonic in 2011. She has taught lessons for two years.
