April Macatangay (instructor, counselor) received her bachelor's degree in education from NIU in 2005 and her master's degree in fine arts from NIU in 2007. She has been an artist-in-residence in the Philippines, where she learned to make traditional clothing from pineapple fiber. She has been a student teacher at Glenbard North High School and worked at Cheseboro Elementary School in DeKalb. Her work has been exhibited widely. She has worked with the Visual Arts Camp for many years.
