String Day

For string orchestras.

String Day is designed to hone the musical skills of developing string players by providing a day of musical enrichment for students. The event features a short performance by each high school group on the Concert Hall stage. This is followed by an on-stage critique conducted by NIU orchestra director Lucia Matos. Other elements of the day include master classes with members of NIU’s new string quartet, the Avalon String Quartet, and a performance by the NIU Philharmonic.

Cost: $160 per school. Limited to 10 schools.
