High school choirs and treble choirs perform on the Concert Hall stage and are critiqued by both the guest clinician and an NIU faculty clinician. A highlight of both events is a performance by one of the NIU choirs.

Celebrate the choral arts! Choir Day brings high school choirs together to hear and be heard by fellow choir members, directors, and NIU faculty members Eric Johnson, Mary Lynn Doherty, and Orna Arania. This year's guest clinician is Hugh F. Floyd, Director of Choral Programs at Oberlin College Conservatory of Music.
As of August 27, Choir Day is full for 2008. We are collecting data to decide whether there is sufficient interest to expand the event to two days in future years, so please call (815) 753-1450 to let us know if you would have attended if there had been space. Women’s Chorus Day brings treble choirs together to address the unique characteristics and expressive potential of the high school women’s chorus. Choir members gain an appreciation for the important contribution these ensembles make to choral music. Groups will be critiqued by NIU faculty Eric Johnson, Mary Lynn Doherty, and Orna Arania. This year's guest clinician is Sandra Peter, choir director and assistant professor of music at Luther College.
