Sam Smiley (apprentice 2) has a bachelor’s degree in jazz studies from Western Michigan University. He began work on a master’s degree at NIU in fall 2009 and will be working with Fareed Haque. He has extensive performing and recording experience in country, rock, folk, jazz, and R&B and has taught lessons for a number of years.
