I teach students how to teach music, specifically jazz. I also teach Jazz Ensemble, and Jazz Combos, and Music Business. I perform professionally on clarinet, flute and saxophone. I am a member of the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, and Program Director for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Band Director Academy, as well as Educational Consultant and clinician. I enjoy teaching students the importance of cultural identity and respect when learning and performing jazz music. I am also a Artist Clinician for Conn-Selmer Inc Music Instrument Company. I also have co-published a book with Professor Cosenza on jazz arrangements for Orff Music instrumentation for non-performing middle school children, "Swinging on The Bars" for Alfred publications. I am also completing my first text for GIA Publications, "Teaching Music Through Performance In Jazz Band."
