Expertise: I am a licensed clinical psychologist trained in empirically-based treatment for psychological disorders, particularly trauma (PTSD) and anxiety. The majority of my work is focused on trauma disclosure and social support, both from the perspective of the victim, as well as the person to whom they disclose the event. This line of research is primarily focused on sexual assault at this time. I am also studying ways that people's perceptions of sexual assault and its victims are affected by the wording and details used to describe the event (e.g., sexual assault vs. rape, description of assault characteristics like the relationship to the perpetrator vs. no details).
