Expertise: I research lemur ecology and grassroots conservation strategies in rural Madagascar. Specifically, I measure the ecology, behavior and health of lemur populations in degraded habitats and use this information to inform habitat management and conservation efforts. I teach lower-division courses such as Human Origins and Introduction to Physical Anthropology, as well as upper-division courses such as Primate Ecology and Behavior, Primates and Food and Primate Conservation. I have been working in Madagascar for 12 years and in 2008 co-founded an NGO, "SADABE", to promote research, conservation and development there.
