The Engineering and Technology Alumni Society (ETAS) is the premier resource for promoting the interests of the NIU College of Engineering and Engineering Technology including its staff, students, alumni, and future students.
The mission of the Engineering and Technology Alumni Society shall be to support the interests of the NIU College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, to advance the interests of engineering and technology alumni, and to support and advance the field of engineering and technology. The society will work cooperatively with existing alumni groups within the college and the university, and will address other issues, from time-to-time, which may be deemed important to the general interest of the society.
Continue to develop and improve upon the functions and operation of the Engineering and Technology Alumni Society. This includes improving ETAS administrative activities, maintaining a strong and effective Board of Directors, and to continue to work closely with the university and the college to enhance the development of ETAS in line with the goals of both groups.
Facilitate professional development and networking opportunities relevant to engineering in order to increase and maintain communication between alumni, ETAS and the university. This includes providing activities in support of alumni, students, faculty, the engineering profession, and the community.
Increase awareness of ETAS through marketing outreach to alumni, students, potential students, CEET, and the university. This includes maintaining current marketing plans, alumni surveys, and promotional information.
