Environmental Studies works in conjunction with the faculty advisor and NIU Career Services to assist students in the process of obtaining internships. Students work with the faculty advisor in order to receive environmental studies credit for internship experience and/or official recognition on the university transcript.

Environmental Studies strongly encourages students to enroll in an internship sometime during the course of their studies at Northern Illinois University. The internship allows students to earn course credit while gaining valuable professional experience as an intern and is open to juniors and seniors.
