Meet Luis:

My leadership roles at NIU are: the University Honors Peer Mentor Program Coordinator,  Honorable Mentions Coordinator, University Honors Program Fellow, Event Coordinator for the Adela de la Torre Honors Society, Social Chair for the University Honors Student Association Social and a DREAM Action NIU Committee Member. I am involved in DREAM Action NIU, Adela de la Torre Honor Society, Lambda Sigma Honor Society, University Honors Student Association, CEET Ambassadors Club, Huskie Service Scholars and PROMISE Scholars. My campus related interests are service, STEM-related activities and numerous student organizations.

An academic goal I have is to pursue a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering upon graduation from NIU's College of Engineering and Engineering Technology. My career goal is to work as an engineer for a company that, through innovation, strives to make the quality of life better for everyone.

Scholarships I have received include: the Northern Lights Ambassadors Scholarship, Navistar Scholars Fund, NIU Scholars and University Honors Fellowship.

Some of my hobbies are computer programming, swimming, reading, sci-fi movies, video games, community service and hanging out with friends.
