Meet Elaine:

Leadership roles I have at NIU include: Administrative Coordinator for the Adela de la Torre Honor Society and Vice President of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science. I am involved in Adela de la Torre Honor Society, Research Rookies, Mentoring for Academic Success, Pre-Physical Therapy Club, Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science and the University Honors Program. On campus I enjoy speaking to prospective students as well as current students about how they can become more involved on campus and the resources NIU provides. I also enjoy volunteering wherever my help is needed.

An academic goal I have is to attend Physical Therapy School and receive a DPT. Following that I am planning to receive a Master in Public Health. A career goal I have is to open a preventive healthcare facility to promote health education and help rehabilitate people in a low income community.

Scholarships I have received include:Illinois Tuition Waiver, VIP NIU scholarship, University Honors Program Fellow, Northern Lights Ambassadors Scholarship and Anne Jane and Mary Larson Scholarship.

My hobbies include: listening to music, going to concerts, traveling, shopping, photography, working out, and dancing.
