I am James Casey and this is my first semester at NIU as I have just transferred from Joliet Junior College. I am a junior standing in my pursuit of a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics. I have a passion for food and healthy living. My group has chosen the theme of "comfort food" and I hope the dining experience will conjure up the joy associated with home-cooking. It is important to me that the Home Away From Home food is satisfying to the soul, yet prepared in a manner that is nutritious; hearty and healthy is my goal.

Kwamaine Williams
General Manager/Dining Room Manager

I am Kwamaine Williams and this is my 5th year and last semester here at Northern. I will be graduating and receiving my Bachelors in Hospitality Administration and a Minor in Business Administration. I one day hope to own my own chain of Hotels because I love helping people and making sure they receive 100% customer satisfaction. I am the General Manager of the restaurant Home Away From Home where we will be satisfying the soul with our comfort food that will give our guest that home away from home feeling.

Hello! My name is Lauren Painter and I am a senior studying nutrition and dietetics. I love cooking and baking in my free time along with playing with my pug Moose. I hope you find yourself at a "Home away from Home" and have a wonderful day!

Karen Boston
Marketing Manager

I am Karen Boston and I am a junior studying Nutrition and Dietetics. Food has been my passion from the start. My entire childhood I was planning every family holiday gathering with an entire menu or coming up with reasons to have a party so I could try a new recipe on my friends or family. I also love recreating food I used to have as a kid. I do this by making the dish healthier and by adding a modern twist. This is why our theme of comfort food really drives me. I hope that at Home Away from Home everyone attending really does feel and taste their home in the food we have worked so hard on preparing.
