Technology Transfer Connection

Work related to sponsored project agreements, as well as non-financial agreements such as material transfer agreements (MTAs) and user agreements, may result in the development of intellectual property (IP) that has the potential to be commercialized or transferred to the private sector. Therefore, Sponsored Programs Administration works closely with NIU’s Technology Transfer Office (TTO) to manage IP issues and ensure that the rights of the university and individual faculty and staff are protected.

Industry Connection

It is our goal to enter into mutually beneficial agreements with industry partners in order to further both of our respective missions. We have developed a summary of NIU’s general principles (PDF) in order to facilitate building such agreements.

Together, NIU and its industry partners inspire and innovate, and we invite you to be part of this effort. Sponsored Programs Administration will assist you in identifying and accessing resources at NIU to enhance your company's potential. NIU offers a variety of opportunities to suit your needs, including sponsored research, technology licensing, facility usage, and strategic giving. Please contact Kellie Dyslin, SPA associate director, to learn more about the NIU advantage.
