Julia Metz is a teaching assistant for WGST 101 and WGST 324 during fall 2017. She graduated from NIU with her bachelor’s degree in Community Leadership and Civic Engagement in May 2016. After graduating, she volunteered as a member of AmeriCorps NCCC. While participating in NCCC, she worked with issues such as disaster relief, poverty, rural development and environmental restoration. Currently, she is working toward a master’s degree in Sociology.
She plans to do research on consent education and sexual assault prevention, but is also interested in studying other topics related to sexual violence, gender inequality and race.
