1. What is your book
about?
(i)
What is the working title?
(ii)
Provide a 2 to 4 page introduction to the book.
(iii)
Provide chapter headings and chapter abstracts.
2. Why publish?
(i)
Who do you think will read this book?
(ii)
Compare your book to other similar publications. How is it
different?
(iii)
Why is it particularly important to publish this book?
3. How ready are you?
(i)
Detail the current length and format of the work (pages/words,
fonts, spacing,
file format, tables, figures, illustrations, maps, appendices,
index).
(ii)
If it is a thesis, describe any adjustments you anticipate.
(iii)
In what time frame would you like your work published?
4. Who wrote your book?
(i)
Provide a brief Curriculum Vitae of the author(s) or
editor(s).
(ii)
Include the names of 2 referees who know this work.
5. Email the Editor

Attach your Proposal
(ii)
Attach your CV and names of referees
(iii)
Attach a copy of ONE core chapter
6. Copyright, Royalties
Please note that upon acceptance, the author will be required
to enter into a copyright agreement transferring copyright to
the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Northern Illinois
University. Except in exceptional circumstances and by prior
negotiation, royalties are not paid.
