Permit Information

How do I get a seat in a permit class?

Step 1: Apply for Spring 2014 permit classes* October 14 - 18, 2013.

Starting October 14, complete permit application forms -- one for each permit course in the list* to the right. You may need to make several copies of the form. Only those classes listed require a permit. If a class isn’t listed, it doesn’t need a permit!

Fill in all parts of each form and return it to Watson 209 by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18. Your signature on the form assures us honesty, accuracy and understanding of all deadlines and procedures!

Keep a list of the permits you’ve applied for by using the supplied worksheet. We cannot supply this information after your requests have been submitted.

STEP 2: Claim permits October 28 - Nov 1, 2013.

Names of students who were granted permits will be listed outside Watson 209 on Monday, October 28, 2013.

You must claim your permit in Watson 209. You will then use the permit number to register for your class on MyNIU

All permits must be claimed in Watson Hall 209 by November 1. Permits become null and void (if unused) after November 24 and the seats will be available for anyone.
