1. How to Connect Cameras to Computer

1. Locate USB cable and connect to camera USB input and computer USB input.
2. Turn camera on and push the button below the LCD screen that looks like the following icon.
   NOTE: Camera needs to be plugged into the power adapter
3. LCD screen should now have the option to select DVD BURNER or
   PC/PRINTER
4. Use the menu selection button to select PC/PRINTER, then press the SET button
5. Computer will now recognize the camera. NOTE: Due to computer speed and other factors this might take some time.

2. How to Transfer Video Files From Camera to Computer

Option A: If you have the ImageMixer 3 Transfer Utility software installed

1. When camera is recognized by the computer the ImageMixer 3 Transfer Utility software should automatically pop up.
2. Select Transfer video
3. Videos will transfer to My Documents -> My Video Folder

Option B: If you DO NOT have the ImageMixer 3 Transfer Utility software installed.

1. Go to My Computer and double click on the Canon or Removable Disk drive icon.
2. Double click on the SD_Video folder.
3. Double click on the PRG001 folder - NOTE: There might be more than one PRG folder available
4. Select all the ".MOD" or files that have the "MPEG" icon
5. Drag and drop or copy and paste selected files to any folder on the computer

NOTE: In order to view video files on a computer using Windows XP, you will need to install the camera CODEC software. Please contact jlarry@niu.edu for the software.

3. How to Convert Video Files to a Smaller Size

NOTE: In order to convert video files on a computer using Windows XP, you will need to install the camera CODEC software. Please contact jlarry@niu.edu for the software.

1. Download and install Any Soft Any Video Converter. It is free software and can be downloaded at the following link. http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/
2. Open the Any Video Converter Software. Go to File -> Batch Add Video Files.
3. Check the box next to the folder containing the videos transferred from the camera, and click OK. NOTE: You should create a new folder each time you transfer videos. Otherwise batch convert will re-convert files that already have been converted.
4. After videos have been added, make sure the Profile setting in the upper right hand corner is set to "Customized MP4 Movie (*.mp4)"
5. Now click on the Convert button
6. Depending on the length of videos and computer processing speed, videos will take some time to convert
7. Your converted video files will be located in the following folder
   My Documents --> Any Video Converter --> MP4
   NOTE: To save space, you can delete the original files transferred from the camera

How to Delete Files on the Camera

1. Press the camera/play button icon below the LCD screen. Camera can not be connected via USB.
2. Use the menu selection buttons to select/highlight a video.
3. Press the FUNC. button. This will bring up a set of options at the bottom of the screen.
4. Use the menu selection buttons to select the garbage can icon, and press the SET button
5. You now have the option to delete ALL SCENES, ALL SCENES (THIS DATE), ONE SCENE (current scene you have selected) or CANCEL
6. Pressing the FUNC button will take you back to the movie selection menu.
