You are cordially invited to the NIU English Department’s first reunion for graduates of the PhD program, March 28-29, 2014. We are eager for our current students and graduates to meet each other, so the reunion will be held in conjunction with the annual Midwest Conference on Literature, Language, and Media (MCLLM). We therefore encourage you to propose a paper for the conference and to stay for a reunion reception and dinner Saturday night. Many of the events will be held in Reavis Hall, so you will have an opportunity to revisit old haunts. Partners are welcome as well.
Please let me know by January 10 if you would be willing to participate in an alumni panel at the conference. I am also very concerned that our mailing list is incomplete and we might be leaving people out, so please feel free to pass on this information. Tell MA graduates that we hope to hold a reunion for them next!
If you are attending the conference as well as the reunion, you must register for each event separately. The registration form for the reunion includes space for an update on your experiences, and we would appreciate it if you could provide this information even if you cannot attend. Your former professors and classmates will be eager to hear from you.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I am extremely excited about this event, and I truly hope you will consider coming.
