Jo Burke, director of the NIU Art Museum, has offered to plan a special program (date/time TBD) for LLI members on the museum's fall exhibit, "On Watching and Being Seen," August 27 - October 19. Burke says, "The exhibition explores the roles of voyeur and exhibitionist, especially through the impact of social media and surveillance technology. How we define what is private and what is public (or what we think should be) has ramifications manifested in our feeling engaged, threatened, or ambivalent."
The committee is also hoping to recommend a musical program. We are awaiting final schedules from venues and will share the information as soon as it becomes available.
