Develop and enhance your knowledge in a specific area of speech by selecting or writing speeches, honing research skills, memorizing pieces, and practicing the art of effective delivery.  Improve your skills by watching and analyzing taped speeches, and enjoy the cooperative, noncompetitive spirit of this popular camp!

Speech Camp Director
Judy Santacaterina, an instructor in the Department of Communication at Northern Illinois University, has served as the director of Individual Events at Northern since 1980 and has taught at the junior high, high school, and university levels.  She has been involved in Illinois forensics activities for the past 18 years and has been the director of the Speech Camp since it began in 1987.

Speech Camp Co-Director
Lisa Roth is a forensics specialist with the NIU Forensics program. She coaches both debate and individual events. She has been involved in forensics for 12 years and has served as a counselor and assistant director for the NIU summer camp. Lisa has competed at both the high school and college level and is an award winning competitor and coach.

Summer Camp Fees: Residential campers $545 ($595 after June 20, 2014); returning LA&S Academic Summer campers, multiple campers from the same household, or NIU employees are eligible for an additional $25 discount on request.
