  • want to have a Movie in a Film Festival?

If so, you will do all this and more at NIU's Film Camp.
As a camper, you will work with experienced Media Producers, Camera Operators and Directors while learning all about Digital Film making from Script to Screen. By the end of the camp, each camper will have their own group produced Movie to share with family and friends and Film Festival Audiences.
Here is a brief list of what campers will learn:

The Three Phases of Film Making. (Pre-Production, Production and Post Production).

Writing a Script
     Camera Operation and Shooting Techniques and Styles
     Digital Non-Linear Editing
     Filmmaking Production Aesthetics

Former Campers have gone on to earn some great Achievements, such as winning a Chicago Film Festival CineYouth Award.

Film Camp Director: Michael Corvino is an Instructor of Media production courses at NIU and a freelance videographer. He has his Master’s in Media Studies and over 15 years of production experience. He also has made an award-winning documentary, music videos, athletic highlight reels, instructional videos, and worked on independent films like the 2007 Anthony Hopkins film, Slipstream, where he assisted the Camera crew, including Academy Award Winning Cinematographer Dante Spinotti, using Panavison's Genesis HD and Panavision Film cameras.

Summer Camp Fees: Residential campers $575 ($625 after June 12, 2015); returning LA&S Academic Summer campers, multiple campers from the same household, or NIU employees are eligible for an additional $25 discount on request.
