Congratulations Team NIU Chemistry Club!

Relay for Life of Northern Illinois University
April 21-22, 2012

Raising nearly $3500, team NIU Chemistry Club more than doubled its original $1500 fundraising goal. Inspired by such an amazing fight cancer and raise awareness...the NIU Chemistry Club was the second highest overall fundraising team that participated in the 2012 Relay for Life of Northern Illinois University. Chem Club President John Price was the top fundraising participant, raising over $1700.  Chem Club Treasurer Kelsey Phillips was 10th in individual fundraising (of the 400+ participants) and the 'winning' team captain.

The NIU Chem Club dedicated this year's walk in memory of Kevin Ballantine, son of Professor David Ballantine. Kevin passed away in January after a courageous three-year battle with leukemia. Members of the Chem Club and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry want to thank all those who have been such gracious supporters of the team's participation and fundraising efforts!
