Join the Club!

The NIU Chemistry Club is a student affiliate chapter of the American Chemical Society and is open to anyone with an interest in Chemistry. The purpose of this organization is to promote interest in chemistry and the chemical professions, to aid understanding of the field of chemistry, and to provide interaction among individuals engaged in the study of chemistry.

The Chem Club sponsors several outreach events each year, including the Chem Demos, a public favorite. The club organizes and presents an evening of chemistry demonstrations at least once a year, always offering a different theme. The Chem Club also sponsors a special glassblowing demonstration and sale featuring the work of our departmental glassblower, a huge fundraiser for the club!

Upcoming Events

The Chem Club Banquet for Awardees, Graduating Undergraduates, and Graduate Students will be held on Thursday, April 25th at River Heights Golf Course (1100 S Annie Glidden Rd) in DeKalb.

The evening will start with a social hour at 5:00pm, followed by dinner at 6:00pm, with the awards presentation following shortly thereafter. Stop by Faraday Hall 319 to sign up with the number of guests that will be attending. See you there!

Shirts are In!

The official 2012-2013 CHEM Club T-Shirts are in!! If you wish to purchase one to support our very own CHEM Club they can be found in Faraday Hall 319 (the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry main office). The going rate is $12 for all students (undergraduate and graduate) and $15 for all non-students.
