The NIU Alumni Association offers $2,500 merit scholarships available to continuing college students who are enrolled full-time at NIU for both the fall and spring semesters ($1250 each semester). Each applicant is eligible only to receive one Alumni Association scholarship per academic year.
The American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois (ACEC-IL) conducts an annual scholarship program that provides a minimum of $11,500 in awards. ACEC-IL annually awards a $4,000 top award to an Illinois engineering student. In addition, a minimum of six additional $1,500 Named Scholarships are awarded. These Named Scholarships are graciously sponsored by ACEC-IL Member Firms.
Whether you're a college-bound high school student or already attending a college or university, Army ROTC has scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded based on a student's merit and grades, not financial need.
The College Scholarship Program is available on a competitive basis to community college, four-year college and graduate students of Hispanic heritage. Award amounts generally range from $1,000 to $3,000.
The Erma Byrd Scholarship Program provides scholarships to individuals pursuing a course of study that will lead to a career in industrial health and safety occupations, including mine safety. The program has a service obligation component, which requires recipients of the scholarship to begin employment in a career position related to industrial health and safety no later than six months after completion of the degree program, and to continue to work in a career position related to industrial health and safety, including mine safety, for a period of one year. An estimated $1 million will be available for an estimated 110 awards.
