Project Lead the Way (PLTW)

We are pleased to announce that in 2010 we became a collaborative partner of the University of Illinois Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Affiliate, which coordinates Illinois statewide PLTW efforts in cooperation with the Illinois State Board of Education. PLTW is the leading provider of rigorous and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) education curricular programs used in middle and high schools across the United States.  PLTW at NIU CEET

We now award college credit hours for all Project Lead the Way (PLTW) students who successfully complete various PLTW courses in the pre-engineering high school curriculum with at least a grade of “B” in each course.  Students will be awarded up to a maximum of seven credit hours towards their degree completion in one of the engineering or engineering technology programs offered by CEET. 

PLTW students will be awarded up to a maximum of seven credit hours for the following list of courses:

UEET 101: Introduction to Engineering (1)
TECH 294: Technology and Cultural Relevance (3)
MEE 270: Engineering Graphics (3)
TECH 211: Computer Aided Design (3)
MEE 101: Energy and the Environment (3)
