ETAS at the Coin Reception

Engineering Technology Alumni Society (ETAS)

All CEET graduates are members of ETAS. You receive 4 newsletters throughout the year and we encourage you to visit us at our Homecoming tent each year, where we celebrate our accomplishments and root on the huskies. Watch the newsletter for other events, such as cocktail speaking receptions, job fairs, and our bi-annual challenge coin reception. 

ETAS Events

  • Homecoming: Look for our tent in the Alumni village. Join us to celebrate the NIU Huskies
  • Job and Internships fair: Each semester, we host roughly 50 companies and over 250 students to fill full time positions and internships
  • Senior Design: The board judges senior design with a specific rubric based upon industry needs. The ETAS board also awards the winning teams monetary prizes.  Many of our board members sponsor projects.
  • Challenge Coin Ceremony:  We induct each graduate into our society with a handshake and the gift of a challenge coin.
  • Monthly Board Meetings: Each month, our board meets at the engineering buildiing to brainstorm, plan, and discuss ways to impact the college.

ETAS fulfills these duties:

  • Employ: Connect students with internships , job opportunities, and career development
  • Communicate: Update faculty, staff, and students on industry news and workplace skills
  • Give: Volunteer time for mentoring, working events, and advising college administration
  • Promote: Spread news about NIU CEET
  • Educate: Advise CEET about workplace needs and industrial qualifications
