Open Model Calls

Details: We will be having auditions for the Fall Fest Fashion show and this will be the time for all students to strut their stuff! This is open to all NIU students and we encourage anyone and everyone to audition. The fashion show will be held on October, 16th at 7:00pm.

Powder Puff Football
Date: 9/27/09 Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Location: Central Park
Details: Girls will play touch football and the boys can root for their team! This will be a tournament and winners will receive points towards the overall homecoming competitions and the Homecoming Spirit Award 2009.
Homecoming Pep Rally
Date: 9/28/09 Time: 11:00 am- 2:00 pm
Location: MLK Commons
Details: CAB will be giving away many of our homecoming marketing materials and starting the spirit of homecoming! It will be a great way for students to find out about all of our homecoming events.
Recycled Boat Race
Date: 9/29/09 Time: 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm
Location: East Lagoon
Details: Teams will be competing in a boat race across the East Lagoon. The boats must be made of at least 70% recycled materials and two people must be able to fit in the boat. This is a challenging way to evoke students’ creativity!
King and Queen Elections

Location: DuSable, Barsema, Founders Library, Rec. Center and Holmes Student Center bus turnaround
Details: This will be the chance for the campus to vote for their homecoming king and queen of 2009.
Yell Like Hell

Details: Each team will be competing against each other with dance moves and spirit! We will have judges deciding which routine is the best.
NIU/DeKalb Parade

The Homecoming Parade will take place with many organizations being represented by floats, cars or even posters. This is also a way for the community to get involved in our homecoming traditions.
Parade Route
The Parade will start off at the corner of Lincoln Highway and 3rd street; go west on Lincoln Highway to N. First Street; north to Locust Street, west to Linden Place, north on Linden Place to Miller Ave; west on Miller, which turns into Lucinda Ave, to Chick Evans Field House, where the Parade will end.
Homecoming Concert: T-Pain featuring Young Joc & Lyfe Jennings

Mural Competition
Date: 10/12/09
Details: The mural must model the vision of Campus Activities Board.
When ideas are submitted, their artwork will be displayed on the CAB/NIU website so the students can be recognized for their talents. The artist chosen will paint their mural in the CAB conference room. They are given a $400 dollar budget to work with. The artist is given the real world experience of learning how to paint under a deadline and budget. Once the mural is complete the artist will receive an award and will be able to keep their supplies provided by CAB.
Those interested will be able to submit their designs between October 12th and October 28th. The winner will be selected by October 30th and the painter will be able to start the first week of November. The mural will be completed by November 23rd.
