Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society for students with disabilities (DAP)
The Center for Access-Ability Resources (CAAR) has created a new opportunity for students with disabilities to connect to the campus and other students-Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society.
International Honor Society for students with disabilities - Delta Alpha Pi Alpha Phi Chapter at NIU
This fall, eleven students were inducted into this newly formed student association recognized student organization at NIU. Congratulations to all of our inductees and new members.
Delta Alpha Pi (DAP) was founded to recognize the academic accomplishments of students with disabilities in 2004 at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.
CAAR has established a chapter for students here at NIU. If you are interested and meet the criteria for membership, please email Jenifer Montag at jmontag@niu.edu to express your interest and request more information.
Criteria for membership includes:
- Student must present with a documented disability, be registered with NIU's Center for Access-Ability Resources (CAAR) office, and they must demonstrate an interest in disability issues and...
- Undergraduate students must have completed a minimum of 24 credits and attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.10 (on a 4.0 scale).
- Graduate students must have completed a minimum of 18 credits and earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.30.
- Members are expected to attend 2 meetings a semester, the induction ceremony, and also to participate in the activities of Delta Alpha Pi, including volunteering, service, leadership, and educational presentations.
