Bronze Buddha image, earth touching, Shan type with high waisted base decorated with floral designs, accented by red lacquer in incised areas. Figure seated with dexter leg over sinister with both soles facing upward in 'vajraparyanka' and in 'bhumisparsa mudra.' Greenish tint, and dull shine. Figure is tilted forward as he sits on the base. Hair is flat. Smooth 'usnisa' is -topped with a finial. Incised band along forehead with short vertical incised lines. Eyebrows and eyelids are incised. wide nose. Ear lobes touch shoulders. Long robe is simple with incised line on the sleeve and from the waist down the robe is only represented by the incised outline. End of the robe crossing the sinister shoulder is long with simple incomplete(?) incised pattern. Dexter shoulder bare in open mode. Fingers are elongated. Plugs of bronze are used to support the fingertips of the dexter hand, raising it above the lap. The sinister thumb is also raised and supported by a plug of bronze. High waisted base has incised floral and geometric designs. Traces of red lacquer especially around floral designs. Front of base is rounded and back is flat.
