A bronze Shan signal drum of slightly waisted cylindrical form, the top having four double frogs, a smaller surmounting a larger, placed equidistantly around the rim, which contains a concentric circular cosmic diagram of great complexity enclosing a central twelve-spiked star. Twin strap-form lug handles on either side below the rim, and a procession of elephants ascending p one side. Set on a circular wood base. Shan tribes, 18-19th century.
