This monk statuette represents Shin Thivali, one of the eight important disciples of the Buddha, standing on a lotus flower, holding a walking stick and a rosary in his right hand, and a fan in his left hand. An alms bowl hangs from his left shoulder. Nowadays, in addition to his position as a spiritually advanced being, he has also come to symbolize protection, and serves to fulfil the wishes of his devotées
