The Branding Imperative at NIU

In his 2008 State of the University Address, NIU President John Peters called for development of a strategic enrollment management plan that would include a comprehensive overhaul of university marketing and communication practices. 

To that end, the Strategic Enrollment Management Task Force empaneled a 45-member Marketing and Branding Subcommittee that includes students, faculty, staff and deans, as well as representatives from the NIU Foundation and Alumni Association. 

The subcommittee established parameters for a branding process that has been inclusive, consultative and research-based.
