Blackboard Learn Upgrade: Memorial Day Weekend 2016

Posted: 5/5/16

A significant upgrade is scheduled to be performed to the Blackboard Learn System over Memorial Day weekend. The upgrade will begin at 5:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2016, and will complete by 5:00 AM on Sunday, May 29, 2016. The Blackboard Learn system (https://webcourses.niu.edu) will be unavailable during this time.

The latest version of Blackboard Learn, October 2014 Release, will introduce several new and exciting features, including:

  • Spell Check
The Content Editor spell check option is now ON by default.
  • Goal Performance Dashboard
The Goal Performance Dashboard can help you better understand how your students are performing in a course. The dashboard displays course goals and the assessments that you map to them. You can quickly determine how a student's individual grades contribute to their achievement of course goals.
  • Blackboard Collaborate Ultra
Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is a real-time video conferencing tool that lets you add files, share applications, and use a virtual whiteboard to interact. Collaborate with the Ultra experience opens right in your browser, so you don't have to install any software to join a session.
