Blackboard Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Packaged Files

I need to upload an Articulate lecture to Blackboard. How do I upload and unpackage an Articulate lecture?

In Blackboard 9, uploading an Articulate file is a two-part process. First, files must be uploaded to Course Content or to the Content Collection. Then, the file can be added to a content area.

Upload the file

  1. From the Control Panel, click the right-facing Action Link next to Content Collection
  2. Click the Create Folder button. It is important to create a folder for each of your Articulate packages since every Articulate presentation uses the same file, player.html, to launch the presentation
  3. Name the new folder with the same name as your Articulate presentation and click the Submit button (this is not required, but will help you organize your Articulate packages)
  4. Click on the new folder to enter it
  5. Click Upload and select Upload Package
  6. Browse for the package (.zip) file and click the Submit button

Add the file to a conent area

  1. In the Course Menu, click on the content area where you would like students to access the Articulate presentation, such as Content
  2. Under Build Content, click Item
  3. Give the presentation a name
  4. If desired, type a description in the Text box
  5. Next to Attach File, click the Browse Content Collection button
  6. In the new window, click on the folder that corresponds to the Articulate presentation (the folder created when uploading the .zip file)
  7. Select player.html
  8. Click the Submit button
  9. If desired, change the Link Title
  10. Select the desired options and click the Submit button
