Archiving a Course

Archiving a course creates a permanent record of a course including all of the content and user interactions and becomes useful in maintaining a record of a course after it has been taught.

After the selections for Archive Course are submitted, the system will create the Archive package. When the package is complete, an email alert will be sent. After the email is received, the faculty should open the Export / Archive Manager and download the Archive package to the local computer, saving it as a .ZIP file.

The Grade Center History can also be added to a course archive but including this information can increase the file size and processing time.

Note:  It is important that an Archive package is not unzipped or any files removed from the package, otherwise the package will not be imported properly.
