- Huskie Marching Band
- Pep Band
Have you noticed the upbeat music energizing the crowd during NIU basketball games and volleyball matches? That's the NIU Pep Band!
Fall Pep Band
The fall Pep Band performs during select home matches of the women's volleyball team and pre-season basketball games. Fall Pep Band has only a few rehearsals over the entire semester; the bulk of the class meetings are performances.
Spring Pep Band
The spring Pep Band plays at most men’s and women’s home basketball games to provide support for the team and entertainment for the crowd. The spring Pep Band also travels to any post-season tournaments. Membership in the spring Pep Band is separate from the fall Pep Band, so you can participate in one or both!
Become a Member
Membership in the Pep Band is open to all NIU students who have high school instrumental experience, but an audition is required for new members. The Huskie Pep Bands are official ensembles of the School of Music and members receive academic credit for participation.
The Pep Band rehearses a few times each semester on Tuesdays from 8-10 p.m.
You can sign up for pep band by enrolling in MUSE 336-Pep Band. Auditions take place during the first rehearsal of each semester.
