Revision of the 1978/1995 By-Laws of the NAEA Women's Caucus

It appears that the by-laws were last reviewed in 1995. Kathy Connors facilitated the review in 1995. She found "only two versions of By-laws in our Archives" and notes that this attached here [attach pdf from the Report] is the "latest we have and was probably formed in 1978 since the copy in the archives has a note on it reading, 'Judy Loeb through 1978 Convention." Kathy Connors asked for review and revisions in 1995, but Maryl Fletcher de Jong in her archive search in 2008 did not find a more recent version of the By-laws so we will work with the latest known version published in the WC Report in 1995 (Issue 54), for members to review and revise in 2009.

Jean Langan (langanjl@muohio.edu) is co-ordinating the 2009 WC By-laws committee. Pat Stuhr (stuhr.1@osu.edu) and Juli Dorff (jdorff@kent.edu) also volunteered to work on the by-laws committee. Please send recommendations for changes to members of the By-law committee for consideration and for eventual membership vote of the committee's proposed changes. See the NAEA Women's Caucus current By-laws as a pdf file which was written in 1978 and last reviewed in 1995.

Also, see the draft of proposed changes posted here (last updated: Friday, August 7, 2009 10:59 AM ), incorporating the protocol arranged by Read with the NAEA concerning membership due collection. Also included are revisions based on suggestions given by members at the WC annual executive committee and business meetings in April 2009. The changes are visible in track changes with some comments in the margins of the document. As you work with this By-law document  please use track changes and the Word comments feature so that what is deleted or added is visible as we prepare this document for electronic vote prior to the NAEA WC annual meeting in 2010. Please send changes to By-laws committee and copy to Read Diket, WC president at rdiket@c-gate.net
