SCHOOL OF ART

THE FOUNDATIONS PROGRAM

This website provides an introduction to the Art Foundations Program in the School of Art at Northern Illinois University.

The Art Foundations Program consists of four studio art courses, three art history courses, and a 1-credit introduction to careers in art and design. Students typically take four additional general education courses during their first year.

These courses are designed to provide art majors and minors with the fundamental skills, knowledge and experiences essential to their development as visual arts professionals. By navigating through this site, you will be able to learn more about the program and see recent examples of students' work.
