Course Description: Intensive study of form and structure in three-dimensional space. Studio and lecture.

Course Objectives: Upon course completion, all students should be able to:

bullet

Define and effectively manipulate the elements and principles of 3D design

bullet

 Use at least three different idea generation strategies effectively;

bullet

bullet

 Use a band saw, drill press, sander and basic hand tools effectively

bullet

 Speak and write critically about personal and peer artworks and propose alternatives.

Weeks 4 & 5: Balance and Proportion
Exploration of variations in orientation and more deliberate use of the base, adding multiple planes.

Weeks 6, 7, and 8: Skeleton and Skin.
