JOSHUA
B. KIND
Professor Joshua B. Kind received
his B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania, and his
Ph.D. in Art History from Columbia University. He has taught at Northwestern
University, the University of Chicago, Illinois Institute of Technology,
and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As an art critic, he has
written for the Chicago papers, Art News, Encyclopedia Brittanica Yearbook,
and was on the editorial staff of the New Art Examiner for a decade. In
addition, he has written various catalogs for exhibitions held at the
NIU art galleries, as well as a monograph on Georges Roualt. He contributed
various articles to the International Dictionary of Art and Artists (St.
James Press) and to the several editions of Contemporary Artists (St.
James Press). His teaching interests include the History of Photography,
Contemporary Architecture, Art Criticism, Post-Modern Visual Art, History
of Furniture, History of the Graphic Arts, and Film and Art.
