Fine Art Studio

The Fine Arts emphasis provides majors with the opportunity to concentrate in one of eight areas of study: Painting, Printmaking, Drawing, and Illustration, Metals/Jewelry, Fiber, Ceramics and Sculpture. The emphasis requires a total of 81 semester hours of course work in the School of Art, including a foundation core in basic design and basic and intermediate drawing, as well as 3 hours of senior project. In addition, 12 semester hours of art history course work including 3 courses surveying the history of Western art are required. The remaining curriculum in each area of study concentrates on courses designed to allow each student to develop a high level of proficiency in a particular discipline.
