Law School Admissions

NIU's College of Law believes that a diverse collegial environment best serves its educational and professional goals, and particularly encourages applications from members of traditionally under-represented groups.

• Applicants are admitted on a comparative and competitive basis through an evaluation of their aptitudes and promise.
• Early application is encouraged: Applications are accepted after the suggested deadline, however, and the June LSAT may be used for an admission decision in the same year.

The NIU Law Admission staff assist and counsel prospective students not only on the particulars of the admissions process, but also on scholarships, loans, residency requirements and housing.
