SKYWATCHERS:
This exhibition examines some of the many ways that human cultures from around the world have used astronomy and stellar events in the planning of their daily lives and in religious practices.
The exhibition features detailed models of Stonehenge (England), Caracol (Mexico), and the Medicine Circle (Wyoming), with interactive explanations of their construction, significance, and use by each culture.
There is also a section entitled, Farmers, that focuses on the horizon calendar used at Walpi by the Hopi Indians. This section shows the progression of the sun and the activities that were associated with each position.
